BUILD A BETTER BRIEF

Good decisions start with the right details.

Explore the points below to shape your enquiry. Start with what you know; we can discuss the details that need clarification.

A manufacturing ingredient enquiry differs from a finished retail product enquiry. Include the intended application, preferred composition and any reference specification. Tell us which requirements are essential and where alternatives may be considered.

For a proposed product, request the relevant technical information and discuss allergens, packaging, storage and documentation requirements with the team. Evidence must relate to the actual product and facility; a general company description does not establish certification for every supply option.

Bulk packs, foodservice formats and private-label packaging each change the discussion. Indicate quantity, pack size, destination and any artwork or labelling requirements. Saina coordinates the sourcing conversation; final specifications, availability and commercial terms are agreed for the selected supply arrangement.

For a food ingredient enquiry, describe what the ingredient needs to do in your finished product. A cocoa powder, glucose or beverage premix may be purchased for a particular recipe or production process. Share the specification you already use and identify any points where you are open to alternatives. This gives the sourcing discussion a useful starting point without assuming that similarly named products are interchangeable.

When reviewing an offer, compare the proposed product, packaging and delivery scope together. Ask which technical information is available and how samples will be assessed if required. Record outstanding questions about the product and agree who will confirm them. A photograph or a general catalogue entry should not replace an agreed specification for a food purchase.

For background research on export processes, see APEDA’s agricultural and processed-food resources and the DGFT portal. Check requirements for the particular product and destination with the relevant parties. Listing these resources does not imply a specific certification or registration held by Saina.

Send a product description, application, specification if available, quantity, packaging and destination. List any questions that still need resolution.
